Acne & Rosacea

Good quality skin like everything else depends on getting the essential vitamins and minerals and water into your body.

However unlike most other problems our skin is clearly visible to rest of the world so we tend to notice it first. Also because the body is clever and uses it’s resources wisely if nutrients are in short supply the skin is generally first to suffer as the body allocates precious resources to more critical organs such as the brain or liver for example.

During puberty when the body is desperately trying to bring balance to the hormones bringing about all that change vitamin and mineral resources are in even higher demand, leading to a range of skin problems in particular acne.

Adults are not necessarily exempt from mineral deficiency either hence spots and acne are not the sole preserve of teenagers. Stress also massively depletes those same resources which is why many skin complaints start or get worse when you are stressed or “run down”.

Rosacea is sometimes mistaken for acne but it is in fact a very different condition but it’s roots are similar. Both conditions can respond extremely well to Nutritional Therapy – taking a standard multi-vitamin is highly unlikely to make a difference but targeting the correct nutrients at the right doses can.
